Fifty-Five and Still Alive

Fifty-five and very much alive!

I'm launching this "post-Alaska" blog on my fifty-fifth birthday since it seems to be a significant mile post in one's life. I can't believe I'm THAT old! I mean, my "AARP" card should arrive any day now and I can save fifty cents on meals at Furr's Cafeteria with the senior's discount! Yippee!! That old phrase, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life!" has never been so significant. I guess since I'm probably in the significant minority of "elderly" who blog - most don't even know what the term means - I should be consoled.
