Home Again, Home Again..

..Barely Alive!

Our world travelers, Rus and Phil arrived back in Wichita after Josh and Jana had flown in from Los Angeles. We were all excited to see them and hear about their trip. Russ did a great job in taking pictures - 424! I will be sharing a few in future blogs. Thank you all for praying specifically that they stayed healthy! They had a great time! Their flight home was long and tiring including a delay in Chicago before flying into Wichita.

Han snuggles Gumpa while he shares with me some of his experiences in East Asia

She took this picture of "Gamma"!

A welcome back supper with tortilla soup.

Thankful!

Phil and Rus returned from the Far East in time to spend a wonderful Thanksgiving with us. Josh and Jana flew in from Los Angeles.

Lesli set a beautiful table in the den in the basement. Instead of each person sharing what they are thankful for, she had our place card printed with scripture passages we shared. It was really special! God is so good to us.

We all contributed to cooking. Jana outdid herself with pies: pumpkin, pecan, pumpkin ribbon and apple....and brownies the night before!.... the OTHER reason we are so fat! We are excited about her giving us a new grand daughter in February!

After "pigging out" we had the football, nap, nap to football and horseplay with Gumpa and Unca Dosh!

English Clubs are held in the evening where students come to practice speaking English. This is a great way to get to know students and exchange thoughts and learn about each other.

This is a typical ESL class.

Final words...

.From the East Side

Phil is finishing out his tour of East Asia. He is in the capitol city and should have visited the "Wall" and the "Square" yesterday. He will return tonight and we should see him late tomorrow night. I understand he has had a cold the past few days. From the pictures, he hasn't shied away from the food!!! These pictures were taken in a revolving restaurant at the top of a 24 story building. Phil got the award that night for eating the most unusual food. I think this was octopus or something.

Word from the Eastside

Talked with Phil last night. He continues to have a great trip and has much to share when he gets home. He is currently in the north, near the boarder of North Korea. This picture was taken in the south central area.

Student Circles

Spending time with students at the universities has been the best part of the trip.
These students had much in common with the group and were anxious to share thoughts.

Babes 'n Books...

..at Barnes and Noble

Today Hudson and Hannah, Lesli and "Gamma" attended "Babes 'n Books". Amidst the mayhem, the kids had lots of fun. Hudson found a display of books about big trucks within minutes.

The hour included a craft.....

...music and story.

A perfect morning ended with lunch with friend Cora at Cici's Pizza!

Special Place

This tower is in a city close to the final home of "Huddy's namesake". History books say this is where he went to talk with his Father about the people and their need.
