Friday Night Lights!

HudMan (age 3-3/4ths) was bent on going to a football game Friday night. We checked the paper and picked one on the west side of town. The paper was wrong! It was an away game. So we had to search for another game. It took awile to get our directions and all. I asked the twins who were sitting quietly in the back seat of the car if they were getting "impatient". Hannah answered, "What does impatient mean?" I told her it meant you were tired of waiting. Her response, "Well, them I'm patient!!"

Once we got to the game while HudMan was intense at watching the game - he was analysising the coaching strategies in hopes to offer some suggestions, I'm sure. 'takes after his grandpa! "Miss Wigglesworth had made three trips to the consession stand and bathroom by the first half!" At the end of half time I asked HudMan if he'd like to go down and pick something out at the consession stand. He paused to contemplate a moment and then replied, "No, you can just get me some popcorn and a drink. I'll keep an eye on the ball!"

We ended up leaving a little early and Miss Wigglesworth asked why we left before the game was over. We told her it was cuz she was wiggly! Her response, "I was just wanting to tawk to da chea-ledah!

Big Mac

The Mackinaw Bridge "Big Mac", is five miles long. it separates Lake Heron from Lake Michigan. It is an amazing stucture! It is quite high and it's not unusual to have to be closed down due to winds. The bridge is constructed so that the deck at center span can shift as much as 35 feet in severe wind conditions. The Big Mac is the third longest suspension bridge in the world. We crossed the Big Mac last week to get to the Michigan Upper Peninsula.

These photos don't do it justice. The day we crossed the Big Mac it was very foggy. Photos on the web show a spectacular view on a clear day. It was still pretty interesting to cross it.

Grandpa!

Say "Aha"

Today the twins saw the dentist for the first time for a teeth cleaning and check up. Hannah should be poster girl for the "American Dental Association". She was the model child that all dental professionals dream of. She had her mouth ready even before being told to.

Hudson needed to keep up the typical "guy" approach to anything that remotely challenges the pain threshold - we know what that is, don't we girls? Unfortunatly, he saw what he called the "hook" (the probe) being used in Hannah's mouth. He didn't want any part of that!

My Best Birthday Party Ever!

The Party Planner!

Yesterday was my birthday and my granddaughter, Hannah planned my party! It was a "Little Mermaid" Party! Grandpa was hoping I'd dress like a Mermaid....NOT!!! Hannah wore her Mermaid costume.
Lesli said Hannah would have bought everything in the party store including a Pinata, if she'd have let her. I told Pat on the phone I had never had a pinata at my birthday party! His reply, "Mom, WE WERE YOUR PINATAS!"
Lesli made me a cheese cake. Afterwards we danced! What's a party without dancing?
