DisneyDay!

Here is the first installment of pictures of our day it Disneyland. What a memory maker it was. The only thing that would have made it better would have been having Melissa and Pat there, a few less other people and a little less heat. None the less, it was a great time!

The rest of the week....

We stayed at El Porvenir for a week and just "chilled". We took a seven mile drive up onto Johnson Mesa. It is the top of a mountain overlooking the whole area with the top flattened. It is an amazing picnic area. All the years we have been visiting El Porvenir, I don't know why we never drove up there.

Bertha's grandsons, Johathan and Michael also joined us. Phil won three out of four of the horseshoe games.

Roughin' It at Ninety-two!

Once again we had the priviledge of taking "Aunt Mary" to the mountains. She is just amazing!!!

Our Little Starfish!

We have officially become the proud Grandparents of a bouncing baby boy. He is 21 months old and is currently living in northern China about 150 miles north of the Korean boarder. We will get to meet him possibly as soon as July! And we are very blessed and excited to welcome him into our family!

God truly loves him very much and has an AMAZING plan for his life. How do I know? Because he looked down from heaven and chose him to be our daughter and son-in-law's son. I don't care how biased I am. They are just amazing parents with godly character and a vision for eternal goals.

You can see his adorable picture on her adoption blog: www.our-china-doll.blogspot.com. She has had to change the name of her adoption blog from "Our China Doll" to "Our China (G.I. Joe) Doll"!

One day while pondering the thought of this precious child the thought of the Story of the Starfish came to my mind. I was delighted when the first photo I saw of him had stars all over the wall behind him! Coincidence??

In case you don't remember the story, here it is:

Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance he could see a boy going back and forth between the surf's edge and and the beach. Back and forth this person went. As the man approached he could see that there were hundreds of starfish stranded on the sand as the result of the natural action of the tide.
The man was stuck by the the apparent futility of the task. There were far too many starfish. Many of them were sure to perish. As he approached the boy continued the task of picking up starfish one by one and throwing them into the surf.

As he came up to the him he said, "You must be crazy. There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can't possibly make a difference." The boy looked at the man. He then stooped down and pick up one more starfish and threw it back into the ocean. He turned back to the man and said, "It sure made a difference to that one!"

Wildcat Basketball Camp

S.C.A.T. sponsored two days of the Wildcat basketball camp this week. Three of the high school's top basketball players did a presentation for the kids on dip. We designed and provided 91 t-shirts and gave away four leather basketballs. It was a great sucess!

This boy (dark shirt) was quite interested in getting lots of information for quitting for his aunt, cousin, mom.......and I think he probably mentioned his whole family!

Shown here are two great kids, Arthur Edwards and Jay "The Rocket" Crockett, who will be a senior next year and has already unofficially committed to play for Texas Tech.
